Happy New Year everyone, best wishes for all of you! Hope you enjoyed last night with friends/family! I defenitely did! In my family it is a bit of a tradition to make apple fritters on the 31st of December. Every year, my dad and I make homemade appel fritters for New Year's Eve, whether it is cold or raining... But yesterday we were lucky, the weather was fine so no freezing hands or wet clothes! I love apple fritters and thats's why I like to share our recipe of homemade apple fritters below (I definetely prefer making your own batter, it's quite easy!)
Recipi Apple fritters (16 pieces):
4 aromatic hand apples ('goudrenet', 'elstar')
15 gr sugar
1,5 teaspoon cinnamon
100 gr self raising flour
2 gr salt
150 ml milk
Peel the apples and remove the core with the apple corer. Cut the apples into 5 equal slices and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
Sieve the flour into a large bowl. Make a well in the center and add the salt and egg. Stir the outside to the inside a couple of times by using a whisk and add the milk. Stir until a smooth batter is obtained.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 180 º C. Remove the apple slices into the batter, drain and put in the fryer. Fry in 5 mins until golden brown (5 at a time), turn halfway. Let the fritters drain on kitchen paper and sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve warm or cold!
|All together before going out!|
In the evening I had a party at my friend's house where we celebrated New Year's Eve. We had a lot of fun together and later that night we went to the city for some drinks!
How did you all spend your New Year's Eve? And have you ever tried an apple fritter or made them youself?
